State-run enterprises hold first joint recruiting exam

The China Post, Taiwan - Over 43,000 applicants participated in the first joint recruiting exam held by state-run enterprises in Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung under the authority of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) yesterday. The written exams for careers with Taiwan Power Company, Chinese Petroleum Corp. Taiwan, and Taiwan Water Company took place simultaneously in 25 different examination centers across the three cities. Although 19,000 of the 62,000 enrolled did not take the exam, only 2.9 percent of the participants will make it to the second round of recruiting, said a MOEA spokesperson.
